ANOTHER RECOVERY!
Sometimes, successful recoveries aren’t just about metal detecting—they’re about playing detective! 🕵️♂️
Earlier today, I was out searching for a lost cell phone and unfortunately came up empty-handed. Just as I wrapped up, I got a call from Liam and his fiancée. She had lost her engagement ring, and they were searching near a golf course ditch along a country road where they thought it fell out.
I met up with them and swept the ditch line thoroughly, but something didn’t feel right. The VDI was dead quiet—the ring simply wasn’t there.
That’s when I paused to retrace the timeline:
1️⃣ She took her ring off inside the car to apply hand sanitizer.
2️⃣ They pulled over to switch drivers. She climbed from the passenger side straight into the driver’s seat—never stepping foot outside.
3️⃣ A few miles down the road, she noticed the ring was missing.
4️⃣ They pulled into a farmer’s driveway on the grass and both stepped out to search under the seats.
Bingo. 💡 That farmer’s driveway was the very first time anyone had stepped out of the vehicle after the ring went missing.
We immediately packed up and headed straight to that driveway. I pulled out my XP Deus II, swung over the grass, and within 30 seconds… a solid 50 VDI with a crisp mid-tone. Gold! 🪙✨
I looked at Liam, smiled, dropped to one knee, and said, “I’ve got it.”
Using my pinpointer, I pulled a gorgeous gold diamond engagement ring right out of the grass! I handed the ring back to Liam so he could slide it right back where it belonged on his fiancée’s finger. The look of relief and pure joy on both of their faces is exactly why I do this.
Thank you, Liam, for making the call and trusting the process!
