How to Prepare Before They Arrive

To maximize your chances of getting your ring back, you can take a few quick steps before a recovery specialist arrives on-site:

  1. Mark the area: Secure the exact location where you think it slipped off using sticks, rope, or physical landmarks.
  2. Minimize foot traffic: Avoid walking around or letting others search the area blindly, which can lead to accidentally stepping on the ring /item pushing it deeper into loose dirt, sand, or thick grass.
  3. Note the timing: Be ready to tell the detectorist exactly how long the ring has been missing, as older losses require higher-sensitivity adjustments for deep targets.
If you would like to move forward, let us know if the ring was lost on land or in the water, and how long ago it happened so I can help guide your next steps!
