How Rick Reunited a Lost Wedding Ring at Lakeside Park with the owner!

When a fun family day at the beach turns into a heartbreak, most people assume that a lost wedding ring is gone forever. But for recovery specialist Rick Abrams of Reddogs Dig & Discover, a missing ring is simply a search waiting to happen.

A Sudden Slip at Lakeside Park

While splashing around in the water with his son at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie, James felt his wedding ring slide right off his finger.

The water was roughly knee-to-waist deep, but as anyone who has lost an item in open water knows, shifting currents and underwater sands can quickly hide metal objects. Despite searching around immediately in the water, the ring was nowhere to be found. It seemed like a total loss.

Enter Rick Abrams & Ontario Ring Recovery Services

Determined to get his band back, James reached out for help but after 2 previous attempts from other recovery specialists from other outside business, Rick was told about the ring several weeks ago and now as our newest recovery specialist here at the “Ontario Ring Recovery Services” Rick Abrams stepped up to take on the search himself.

Armed with his metal detector, Rick headed out into the water at Lakeside Park. Rick systematically scanned the target area,

relentlessly working through the search grid in about two feet of water. His persistence paid off when his detector gave off that unmistakable solid tone—the lost wedding band was secured!

The Reunion

Since James was traveling back from Newfoundland on business, Rick arranged to meet up with him halfway at a transit terminal to hand over the ring in person.

“He was relentless in his search for it and made the whole process easy. I think he was just as happy (almost) as me to have found it for me! Thanks Rick!”
