“Something Blue” White Gold & Sapphire Ring Recovered in Tweed, ON
Every wedding needs something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. But during a wedding photo shoot in Tweed, Ontario, the bride’s “something blue”—a beautiful white gold and sapphire ring—was lost in a heavy grass field.
To make matters tougher, two other detectorists had already searched the area without success. The field was packed with iron debris and heavy ground clutter, making it nearly impossible for standard equipment to pull a clean target signal.
The Recovery:
Breaking Through Heavy Iron in Under 40 Minutes
Carole McCreary reached out to Ontario Ring Recovery Services to see if anyone could help locate her sister’s lost heirloom ring so it could finally be returned to her mother-in-law.
Ryan Pugh stepped in with his high-performance Minelab Manticore metal detector. Navigating the dense iron masking in the field, the Manticore locked onto a solid 17 VDI reading at over 3 inches deep. In under 40 minutes,
Ryan pinpointed and dug up the missing white gold and sapphire ring.
The client was thrilled to have the special family heirloom safely returned after being buried in the soil for so long.
