Mark that spot then find a phone to mark your exact position on a GPS APP like GOOGLE MAPS. Take a screen shot and save the location on the map itself for future reference.

If your on the water just do your best to remember and hopefully someone can help you by getting a boat or floatation device to come to you and they can mark your location.

Without marking your location a successful recovery isn’t impossible, but becomes much more difficult.
